「氣鏡之門」是一座位於台東知本山區的竹構雕塑,作品形如兩座相交的山,也像是兩股從地面捲起的浪。中央圓形窗口對應遠方山脈的凹口與溪谷,彷彿天地之間一處靜謐的對話場域。此門既是觀看自然的框架,也是穿越感知邊界、通往內在與宇宙深層對話的入口,象徵東方哲學中「圓滿」、「通達」與「流轉」的精神意涵。
作品以竹材構築,呼應東方文化對自然美學與生命韌性的體現。竹材的柔韌與繁生,使雕塑與山林地景融為一體,呈現「隱身於自然」的狀態。隨著光線穿透竹構縫隙,時間在其中投下層疊的光影,讓作品在日夜交替中成為一座流動的時空門扉,引導觀者在行走中感受空間變化與自然脈動。
圓形窗口為視覺與象徵的核心。從特定角度望向遠方,山勢的起伏與圓窗內的景緻巧妙對應,如同天地在此刻展開一場無聲的對話。夜幕低垂時,雕塑內部透出的光映照竹紋,水氣與霧氣在其間盤旋,仿若溫泉之氣升騰,為作品披上一層夢幻的薄霧,彷彿夜間發光的邊界,將星空與遠山納入其中,成為穿越時空與感知的沉思通道。
因此我將之命名為「氣鏡之門」,象徵自然與空間的映照、流動與互通。它如一座橋樑,連接人與自然、視覺與心靈、物質與精神,引領觀者進入一場靜默卻深刻的轉化經驗,與水、光、大地共譜一首當代自然的詩篇。

“Phasegate” is a bamboo-structured sculpture located in the mountainous hot spring region of Zhiben, Taitung. The form resembles two converging mountains—or two waves rising from the earth. At its center, a circular window aligns precisely with the distant mountain gap and valley, creating a tranquil site of dialogue between heaven and earth. This “gate” is not only a frame through which nature is viewed, but also a portal for crossing the threshold of perception—an entry into inner realms and cosmic dialogue. It embodies core values of Eastern philosophy: completeness, passage, and perpetual flow.
Constructed from bamboo, the work draws upon the Eastern cultural reverence for nature’s beauty and the resilience of life. Bamboo’s flexibility and vitality allow the sculpture to blend seamlessly into the forested landscape, achieving a state of “being hidden within nature.” As sunlight penetrates the bamboo weave, shifting shadows and layered light transform the sculpture into a dynamic portal of time and space, guiding viewers to sense the pulse of the landscape as they move through it.
The circular window is both the visual and symbolic core. From certain angles, the undulating mountain ridges beyond align perfectly with the interior view through the round frame, evoking a silent dialogue between the earth and sky. At nightfall, soft light emanates from within, illuminating the textures of interwoven bamboo. Rising mist and vapor drift gently through the structure like steam from nearby hot springs, cloaking the sculpture in a dreamlike veil. The round window becomes a glowing threshold, capturing stars and distant peaks—a contemplative passage through space and perception.
Thus, the work is named “Phasegate”—a symbol of reflection, flow, and interconnectedness between nature and space. Like a bridge, it links human and nature, vision and spirit, material and metaphysical. It invites viewers into a quiet yet profound experience of transformation, as it composes, together with water, light, and earth, a contemporary poetic symphony of the natural world.
