“2025 國際火舞藝術節_火神祭_火裡重生-島上覺醒”


夜幕低垂,漁光島外海的漁船燈火宛如繁星,映照著島嶼與人們的記憶。本作品取材於此景,在沙灘上以竹編構築七朵火焰狀雕塑,象徵七道光之印記。七的數量呼應夜海中的繁星與漁火,也寓意光在人類文明中的七種精神價值──啟示、守護、能量、生命、希望、連結與永續。

作品藉此回應「國際火舞藝術節」的文化符號,並凝縮「光」、「潮」、「竹」三者之間的自然哲學與環境精神。「光」是作品的精神核心與能量之源;「潮」象徵時間與自然的流轉,回應火焰與海洋之間的時空節奏;「竹」則承載東亞文化的韌性與再生精神,連結人與自然共生的哲學。三者共同構築作品的主軸──以竹與火焰為形,以潮為息,以光為魂。

七座雕塑以弧線向海延展,呼應潮汐的時空曲線,形成流動的秩序。中央最高大的火焰雕塑設有圓形窗口,對應西方的落日,邀請觀者透過火焰凝視海天交會,感受自然的循環與無常。漁光島舊名「三鯤鯓」,「鯤鯓」意指如鯨魚背部般隆起的沙洲,作品的起伏亦如沙洲在潮汐間的呼息與共振,因此命名為《鯤焰之光》。

《鯤焰之光》結合火舞的文化象徵,將兩股能量交融聚合。當觀者面向潮水與落日,火焰成為意識的門徑,使島嶼、自然與人心在此短暫而詩性的場域中,產生新的連結與共鳴,化為一首光與潮共鳴的「場域之詩」。

As night descends, the fishing lights off Yuguang Island glimmer like scattered stars upon the sea, reflecting the memories of the island and its people. Inspired by this sight, the work takes form on the beach through seven bamboo-woven flame sculptures—seven imprints of light. The number seven echoes the stars and fishing lights across the night sea and embodies the seven spiritual values of light in human civilization: revelation, protection, energy, life, hope, connection, and renewal.

The work responds to the cultural symbolism of the International Fire Dance Festival, condensing the natural philosophy and environmental spirit found among “light,” “tide,” and “bamboo.” Light serves as the core and source of energy; tide represents the flow of time and nature, resonating between flame and ocean; bamboo embodies the resilience and regeneration of East Asian culture, linking humanity to the philosophy of coexistence with nature. Together, they shape the essence of the work—bamboo and flame as form, tide as breath, and light as soul.

Seven sculptures extend in an arc toward the sea, tracing the temporal curve of the tides and forming a rhythm of flow. The tallest central flame holds a circular window aligned with the western sunset, inviting viewers to gaze through fire toward the horizon, experiencing the eternal cycle and impermanence of nature.

Yuguang Island was once known as San Kun Shen—“Kun Shen” meaning sandbanks rising like the backs of whales. The undulating flames mirror these sandbanks, breathing and resonating with the tides. Hence, the work is named Luminescence of the Tidal Flame.

Merging the cultural imagery of fire dance, Luminescence of the Tidal Flame fuses two streams of energy—fire and tide. As viewers face the sea and the setting sun, the flames become a gateway of awareness, allowing island, nature, and spirit to converge in a brief yet poetic field of resonance—a “poem of the site,” where light and tide breathe as one.
