「心」是佛法的核心,也是自然流動的感知之處。


作品《水之心》以「水」與「種子」為意象,象徵萬物由緣起而生、隨流而轉的自然哲學。整體造型如水滴般柔順流暢,內部圓形結構彷彿孕育中的種子,蘊藏生命的潛在能量與覺性的萌發。


「水之心」作品以竹子做為主要材質,其中空而不虛、柔軟且堅韌,如水之性,亦如修行之心。它既是自然界可持續的材料之一,也是人與環境共生的象徵。作品中央設有一個圓形窗口,那是一道「觀」的界面,內外相映,虛實互生。當觀者站於其內,圓窗如一面靜水,映照遠方「來迎觀音」的身影;當從外遠望,它又如心之眼,邀請人回望自身。這個圓不僅是通往風景的框架,更象徵佛學中「圓滿與無相」的境界,在有限的形中,開啟無盡的觀照。


作品座落於「來迎觀音」前方草皮之上,猶如法水流注之源。雕塑的弧線彷彿觀音衣袂的延展,也如水之姿態,在風與光之間承接萬物。當陽光灑落於竹編之間,形影交織成呼吸的節奏,形成自然與法性的共鳴。此外,作品周圍延展的弧形雕塑,如水勢或雲紋般流動於大地,描繪出法流與生命循環的軌跡。


在氣候變遷的時代,作品邀請人們以寬柔的心感受水的存在,於靜觀與流轉之間,體驗一場關於「流動、滋養與再生」的心靈修行。

“Mind”(Heart) lies at the core of Buddhist teaching, and it is also the place where the flow of nature is perceived.


The work Heart of Water draws upon the imagery of water and seed, symbolizing the natural philosophy that all things arise through conditions and transform through continuous flow. The overall form resembles a flowing water droplet, while the circular structure within evokes a seed in gestation—holding the latent energy of life and the awakening of awareness.


The sculpture is primarily constructed from bamboo, a material that is hollow yet not empty, soft yet resilient. Its qualities resemble the nature of water and the cultivated mind in spiritual practice. Bamboo is also a sustainable material in the natural world and symbolizes the possibility of coexistence between humans and the environment. At the center of the work is a circular opening that serves as an interface of contemplation. Inside and outside mirror one another, presence and emptiness giving rise to each other. When viewers stand within the structure, the round window becomes like a still surface of water, reflecting the distant figure of the Welcoming Guanyin. Seen from afar, it resembles the eye of the heart, inviting one to turn inward. This circle is not only a frame for viewing the landscape but also symbolizes the Buddhist notion of wholeness and formlessness, opening boundless contemplation within a finite form.


The sculpture is situated on the lawn before the statue of Welcoming Guanyin, like a source from which the Dharma flows. Its sweeping curves echo the flowing robes of Guanyin and resemble the gesture of water itself, receiving all things between wind and light. As sunlight passes through the woven bamboo, light and shadow interlace into a breathing rhythm, forming a resonance between nature and Dharma. Surrounding the main structure, extending curved elements spread across the ground like currents of water or drifting cloud patterns, tracing the circulation of the Dharma and the cycles of life.


In an age shaped by climate change, the work invites viewers to encounter the presence of water with a gentle and receptive mind. Between still contemplation and flowing transformation, it offers an experience of spiritual practice—one centered on flow, nourishment, and regeneration.
